2026 Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency

Under this program, LES offers commercial and industrial customers incentives for energy-efficiency measures that reduce peak demand and energy use. Incentives include, but are not limited to: high-efficiency HVAC systems, variable frequency drives, energy management systems, motion sensors for lighting, compressed air system upgrades, Energy Star kitchen appliances, and refrigeration improvements. Other energy-efficient measures may also qualify for a custom incentive from LES.

The first step for any project is to contact SEP@les.com. Please note that pre-authorization is required to qualify for incentives under this program.

For small commercial HVAC projects (less than 5.4 tons per system and less than 5 systems), please apply under the High-Efficiency Heat Pump and Air Conditioner program.

2026 Heat Pump Water Heater

Incentive

$500 per qualifying heat pump water heater

Requirements

Uniform Energy Factor (UEF) requirements:
- 40–55 gallons: UEF ≥ 2.0
- Over 55 gallons: UEF ≥ 2.2
All equipment must be AHRI rated.
Plumbing permits are required.
Eligible for installation in residential or commercial buildings, new or existing
Projects must be pre-authorized before installation or submitted to LES within 90 days of the invoice date. Projects resulting in incentives greater than $5,000 must also be pre-authorized before installation.

2026 High-Efficiency Heat Pump and Air Conditioner

Incentive Amounts

$1,000 for qualifying air source heat pumps
$300 for qualifying air conditioners
Up to $1,800 per system for qualifying geothermal heat pumps

Air Conditioners and Air Source Heat Pumps (< 5.4 tons)

Must be inverter-driven OR must have an EER2 ≥ 12.0 AND a SEER2 ≥ 15.2
Air conditioners paired with electric resistance heat do not qualify. If electric resistance heat is present, it must be paired with a new heat pump to be eligible for an incentive.

Geothermal Heat Pumps

Incentives are based on EER at high-speed operation. Refer to program links for detailed eligibility requirements.

Additional Requirements

All equipment must be AHRI rated. The installed equipment must match all model numbers listed on the AHRI certificate.
Mechanical permits are required.
Eligible for installation in residential or commercial buildings, new or existing.
Projects must be pre-authorized before installation or submitted to LES within 90 days of the invoice date. Projects resulting in incentives greater than $5,000 must always be pre-authorized before installation.

Large Systems and Multifamily Projects

Contact SEP@les.com for systems greater than 5.4 tons or large multi-family projects (more than 5 systems).

General Guidelines

2026 Whole House Sealing and Insulation

Type :

Available : 01/01/2026 - 12/31/2026

Incentives

Up to $1500
- $.50 per sq ft of qualifying attic space
- $.80 per sq ft of qualifying exterior frame wall space

Attic Insulation

Existing attic insulation must be ≤ R-19 (six inches or less) to qualify for an attic insulation incentive.
Attic insulation must be increased to ≥ R-49 after new insulation is installed.
Pre- and post- insulation photos are required for attic insulation incentives. In both instances, provide a picture showing as much of the attic space as possible as well as a picture of a tape measure displaying the existing depth of attic insulation.

Wall Insulation

No existing exterior frame wall insulation may be present to qualify for a wall insulation incentive.
Exterior frame wall insulation must be increased to ≥ R-13 after new insulation is installed.
For a wall insulation incentive, you must provide how you determined the wall square footage. The calculation must show 15% being deducted for doors and windows.

Additional Requirements

All projects must include a pre- and post-blower door test.
Eligible for installation in residential or commercial buildings, existing homes or buildings only.
Pre-authorization is required before the project is started to qualify.
This program does not include an incentive for insulating basement concrete walls, garage walls or garage attics. Only conditioned spaces are eligible for an insulation incentive.
The project must result in the exterior frame wall or attic insulation level throughout the entire home or building.
